Do you find that sometimes you have no idea what to give your child when they come home from school or what to pack in their snack bag for the park?
It happens to everybody, including me. For an easy reference, I like to keep a list on my fridge of quick things to put together when I need a snack for my children and nothing comes to mind. It is a list of snacks with ingredients that I always have on hand, either in the fridge or in the pantry.
Here are 5 quick snack ideas from my list. Obviously the smoothie is not an easy thing to pack, but you can put it in a thermos or in a water bottle. Unscrew the lid and have your child drink it.
This is a snack my family can’t live without. It is delicious, full of nutrients, and very filling.
If you want to take it to the park, spread it on a wrap, roll it, and pack it in a sandwich bag.
These muffins are made with raspberries, but are delicious with any berries your child likes.
4. 3-ingredient Mango Coconut Popsicles
You can make a smoothie or popsicles with only 3 ingredients. I prefer the smoothie version, but my kids and husband like both.
Moist and sweet, these muffins (or bread) are one of the perfect snacks: portable and delicious.
Does your child have a favourite snack that they ask for over and over again?
Great ideas! The banana wrap is so unique. I’ve never seen it before but I know my kids will get a kick out of it. And I’ll be happy that their hands will stay relatively clean!
Yes indeed, Carissa, the banana wrap is a (relatively 🙂 – as it depends on the age of the child) clean snack. I hope your kids will enjoy it!
My kids love “ants on a log”- celery with cream cheese or peanut better inside with raisins on top.
This is a great quick snack! It is a weird combination for me, as I never ate it when I was little, but my kids love it :). Of course, I can’t use cream cheese, but any nut butter works great. For those with nut allergies, pumpkin or sunflower seed butter are tasty alternatives.
Alina, thank so much for sharing these ideas! I’ve been making smoothie Popsicles lately and love em. I make them with Aloha green juice powder, banana, coconut milk, and a little liquid stevia. 🙂
By the way, thanks for your B-School help in the Facebook community!! It was much needed and now I have a clearer vision for my up-coming program! 🙂
Thanks again!!
The smoothie popsicles sound yummy. Here is a delicious recipe if you are looking for another idea: http://orgali.ca/2014/08/tasty-tuesday-3-ingredient-mango-coconut-popsicles/.
I am so glad that my ideas helped you. Anytime! Good luck and keep me posted please.
