Tasty Tuesday: Creamy Coconut Hot Chocolate

My son has been asking me for a long time to make him some hot chocolate. One cold day, while my children were playing in the backyard, I made the coconut hot chocolate for them to warm up with when they came inside. Both my children loved drinking it and since then I make the coconut hot chocolate frequently.

Is there a better drink to keep you warm when you are out playing in the snow or to give you energy and make you happy when you are feeling down?

This Creamy Coconut Hot Chocolate is rich in:

  • Healthy fats from coconut milk
  • Fiber and minerals (copper, manganese, magnesium, iron, and phosphorus) from raw cacao
  • Manganese and zinc from the maple syrup

Creamy Coconut Hot Chocolate

Serves 2

400 ml coconut milk

¼ cup water

3 tablespoons raw cacao powder

3 tablespoons maple syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Marshmallows – optional

Whisk all the ingredients in a pot until everything is mixed well. Warm the creamy coconut hot chocolate on the stove. Add marshmallows if using. Drink and enjoy!
